Visit Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre, a unique native wildlife sanctuary in Perth

Are you interested in visiting Kaarakin? Hold your car keys though – whilst we love visitors, all visits to Kaarakin are strictly by appointment only.

We are located in the beautiful Perth Hills, Perth, Western Australia, just 30 km away from Perth CBD.

Our tours are for people of all ages. Please bring your family and friends.

  • Private tours or close encounters with black cockatoos or dingoes by appointment only. Private tours are for groups of 1 to 10 people and include a black cockatoo encounter. Enjoy a dingo close encounter as an extra or as a standalone experience.
  • Public tours. Join other keen wildlife lovers who also wish to visit us. We have various options available through the year, from big tour weekends to smaller events such as the Bird Bonanza.
  • School visits. Your school group can come to us, or we can come to you.
  • Corporate volunteering
  • Bus/Community group tours

Please note that we cannot admit people to our black cockatoo sanctuary if they have not booked, whether on a tour, a school visit or to volunteer. Our Black Cockatoo Rescue and Conservation Centre is a very busy sanctuary and we need to allocate resources ahead of time to accompany guests.
