Sponsorship Packages Now Available

Be part of something special – sponsor a release bird!

Did you know that you can sponsor a rehabilitated Kaarakin black cockatoo?

Each year, Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre releases a number of black cockatoos back into the wild after they have been rehabilitated following their rescue and recovery from injury. Each release location is carefully selected, and studies have shown that released birds will quickly rejoin a local flock and continue living their lives as wild cockatoos.

We have releases coming up in 2018 involving birds that have been fitted with state-of-the-art GPS trackers by Murdoch University for the Black Cockatoo Conservation Project. This program has helped researchers to study the migration and nesting habits of local black cockatoos.  You can click here for a report containing data collected as part of this extraordinary project.

If you or your business like to help Kaarakin to continue its work rehabilitating our native wildlife, why not sponsor a bird?

Each sponsorship package grants the opportunity for the sponsor to name their adopted cockatoo, to attend at the release, and have the honour of releasing their bird. Updates will be provided and, if you sponsor a tracked bird, you may even get updates on their new life in the wild.

Three Murdoch University tracked releases are fast approaching, so get in fast!
